soho shopping

My good friend/older sister Yurie came to visit a few weekends ago. I’ve been late with the pictures, I know. Blame a busy week! or two.

Our first stop was the Jersey City waterfront, which was (although cold) as beautiful and breathtaking as it always is. The skies are blue and cloudless, and the winter is white again.

Second stop? Marc Jacobs store which I had a bad, relatively rude encounter with one of the store associates. Bad taste in my mouth. Almost bad enough to make me not want to buy anything to give that sorry unhappy man the 0.1% commission he may get from standing there looking like someone farted in his face. The ‘someone pooted’ stare – you know what I’m talking about. Let’s not pretend.

We went to soho to shop, but the lines were so ridiculous we couldn’t really stand to wait in line. All the great finds were pretty much taken, and even if you found something amazing (which I did, an amazing pony hair coat at Zara), you didn’t feel like standing in a line that would take you 45 minutes to get in, pay and get out. =(

So what’s next? Food, duh.

We went to coffeeshop. Ian suggested it since I had never been there. Yurie and I wanted pho or korean food, but we somehow got talked into walking over to Union Square and eating burgers and fries. Hm.. how typical. Nonetheless it’s a pretty iconic spot in the city. Lots of famous people tend to go there and pretend like they’re not. Fun. All of the waitresses are part-time models. Some supposedly got discovered while working there. I guess that’s why they apply?

Crumbs was after that but I unfortunately did not possess the will power to take a photo of my scrumptious peanut butter cup cupcake before devouring it.

I wore a camel trench with a classic wide-brim fedora , some over-the-knee leather boots and an H&M holey crop sweater. The comfiest thing I’ve purchased in a while.
