To sum up Jeremy Scott’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection: rainbows, a gargantuan unicorn, Bart Simpson, chain masks and foreign-dubbed disco music.
Yes, foreign-dubbed disco music. Imagine hearing what you recognized as Michael Jackson only with an odd foreign-film-like dubbed voice singing the songs instead of the King of Pop himself. I was just waiting for someone to bust out in dance, but sadly, this didn’t happen.
The runway show was a lot of fun, but let’s get on to the actual collection.
There are obviously pieces that would be ridiculous in person, but there were some standout pieces that I would love to see in my closet. My absolute favorite was the multi-colored long-fur coat. It looked like a delicious pack of skittles resting on the model’s body, and the movement of it was so light and feathery. I can only imagine the editorial potential.
I did almost feel bad for the stuffed animal-scarves with their massive heads of horns peeking out from under the models’ hands. Flared pants came back with a vengeance. I think this is going to be really fun to wear – especially with the sheer trend. I especially loved the embellishments on the bottom parts of the pants.
Had so much fun watching the craziness walking down the runway. Definitely enjoyed scanning through these photos afterwards as well.
