tibi fall/winter 2012 runway show

Ahh, Tibi. You never cease to amaze me – all of that understated, effortless style bunched up into a subtle but smoking collection. There is nothing over the top or overtly special, but the most stylish people in this world roll out of bed after waking up and throw things on that happen to go well together. It’s like a coincidence, except when you have pieces like Tibi’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection, there’s no such thing as an off day.

The slightly metallic green pieces were an ornament away from christmas overdose, hovering over tacky, but somehow it still looked chic. I can’t say that I’d look the same in pieces like that, but I was nevertheless drawn to them.

The bird print was my favorite during the show – this may be due to my fascination with Miu Miu, and it does channel their 2012 F/W collection, but I don’t care. I love the bird print I would easily wear the blouse and pants together in a full-on printed three-piece get-up. No shame.

Last year’s F/W collection was also stunning, but featured the warmer side of the color spectrum. This year’s various shades of blues and greens oozed cool, especially mixed in with the tailored double-breasted suit jackets and high back-slit trouser-inspired skirts.
